A Great Day In The Neighborhood!

I couldn’t remember how to throw a boomerang, but it came back to me.

I am on the freeway again!  Mary’s back is still acting up, so I volunteered to drive over and pick her up and take her to work, a forty-mile round trip, but that is easy!

As we departed Mary’s home, Scout was having a fit with his ears, so we looked, and one had an infection. On the way to work, Mary called a friend,  a veterinarian, and recommended a certain ointment.

Well, Scout and I are good friends, so I doubled back to Mary’s and doctored up Scout’s ear.

Scout acted like he knew I was there to help because he did not move a bit as I cleaned the ear out.

Scout followed me around and I could not figure out why?  I wish I could read his mind!

From Mary’s, I zipped over to the Santa Ana Elks and joined in on “Girls Night Out.”  Loads of fun with the guys!  I had pastrami, but when I saw the open-faced steak sandwiches, I ordered two to go, and they might be dinner tonight!

We yakked like five old ladies!

The five of us just enjoy an hour away from the world plus we enjoy lobbing “insults” across the table!

A dare say, a more handsome group would be hard to find!

Back home, I went to clean up the garage a bit before getting ready for Mary’s phone call.  Mary called about 4:00 PM, and she was hurting.  I picked her up and took her to her home.  We set up the downstairs couch so she could rest while watching TV.  We saw “Every Which Way But Loose” circa 1978, and we both laughed until we hurt.

Why did we watch that specific movie? Miss Mary kept saying, “Right Turn, Clyde,” so it was a necessity.

We started to watch the sequel, but alas, it was late, and I had to get home. Tomorrow is going to be a big day, I found an eye doctor who I really like a lot!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
