If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP?
We up early this morning, ready to attack the day! We had our brunch about 10:00 AM and we ate the meal from last night’s Toppers dance…since we do the pictures, we take dinner home with us! Actually, it was pretty good!
Into the Silver Ghost and off to the market I went…0-60 MPH is a little over 45 seconds. We were running dangerously low on tookie dough! What if there were an earthquake?? I decided to walk around and get some other necessities of life like asparagus, ice cream, cool-whip, and berries.
Upon returning home, we had a delivery awaiting. Mother’s Day -1, what could it be??
Our daughter, Colleen, and her hubby Mark sent Sue flowers for Mother’s Day! They were beautiful! Sue and Colleen have always had a special bond…can’t describe it, but just “special”.
OK, it is 12:00 and time to hit the showers as we had to be at South Coast Plaza at the Segerstrom Theater at 2:00 PM to see “Fiddler On The Roof”. We have the best seats for us… row G center stage. We do not have to move our heads to see everything! If the orchestra is playing, we do NOT see the bald maestro’s head bobbing up and down and I don’t feel the urge to yell “Follow the bouncing ball”!
We just got the same seats for next years major Broadway productions! It’s worth the extra cost as we are close to the bar, very close to the front door, and a few steps from The Center”.
Did You Know? The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family’s lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters, who wish to marry for love – each one’s choice of a husband moves further away from the customs of their Jewish faith and heritage – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.
The original Broadway production of the show, which opened in 1964, had the first musical theatre run in history to surpass 3,000 performances. Fiddler held the record for the longest-running Broadway musical for almost 10 years until Grease surpassed its run. It remains the seventeenth longest-running show in Broadway history.
It took Sue 30 minutes to have me stop yelling “Tradition” and stomping my feet!
Returning home for all of 45 minutes, we freshened up and headed to the Garden Grove Elks for an evening with friends, a good meal, and lots of dancing! We have Robin and Michele beginning to dance and now we must work on Joe & Amy!
We returned home about 9:00 PM and watched Grey’s Anatomy, always a hoot!
