It is amazing what a handful of crazy ass liberals can do to our country! We sit back and watch it happen!
The morning started pretty well again, with few clouds in the sky, but things did not take long to change. We popped into the shower and got ready for Mary’s PT appointment. It is about a 20 minutes trip to Tustin, and the old Silver Fox knows the way very well!
We did a quick tour of the garden, and it is ready for the onslaught expected later, but later came sooner than expected.
I told Alexa to play pet sounds on repeat to keep my dog company while we were out of the house today. Long story short, Scout knows the words to “Who Let The Dogs Out” now.
I dropped her off, went to a little burger joint called 2Trouble Cafe for coffee and toast, and read my new book, “Alexa for Seniors.” The book was in large print, which made it easy to read. I learned several new things that we can teach Alexa. She is in every room and sometimes twice.
Mary’s PT expert is good at diagnosing problems!
It was raining when Mary exited her session; by noon, it was pouring down. We set the house to 72 and turned on the fireplace, keeping the family room and the rest of the house just right.
I had to ask Mary, “Can bees fly when it’s raining?” I got that “please, not another one” look. I responded. “Not without their little yellow jackets.”
We were expecting Mary’s accountant over at about 2:30 pm, so we passed through the house to ensure everything was OK. We expected the accountant to stay an hour or so going over everything, and she spent fifteen minutes and exclaimed how well organized Mary was and departed. I guess I am rubbing off on her, a ha ha.
Yesterday we went shopping for luggage and <ary was so proud of her new gear, she wanted a picture of it. It took me about ten minutes to capture the photo because they refused to smile.
We had assistance this afternoon from Scout, The Wonder Dog. He was worried about the rug flying away with the strong wind outside, so he volunteered to sleep on top of it and hold it down. He is a good baby.
Late afternoon, Mary decided dinner was in order. Hence, she found a recipe for homemade cheese sauce, and she cooked up six chicken breasts in the oven after breading them with special spices only known to a little man who lives on the top of a mountain in the Himalayas. we used an entire block of rat *cheddar) cheese, and I grated it all using a hand grater.
It made me think, what do you get when you cross a chicken and a ghost? Obviously, a poultry geist.
I also thought, What is the difference between a chicken and a turkey? Chickens celebrate Thanksgiving!
We watched New Amsterdam while Mary prepped the peas and cauliflower. This was a second growth for the cauliflower, so large heads did not form. Mary painstakingly removed the stalks for the flowerets so we could steam them.
Mary picked the cauliflower herself, which was a lot of work. I asked Mary, “What do you call a cauliflower growing at the edge of a garden?” Again, I got a puzzled look, so I blurted out the answer, “A border cauli!” Scout began to worry.
While we were cooking, the storm raged outside and often was loud enough to draw our attention. Scout has to use the potty, so he goes out but returns quickly. We were ready with the car wash towels, and he smiled as we dried him off.
Rain confuses Scout; the grass is pre-watered!
We ate two of these breasts; the remaining four will likely be in chicken sandwiches or other delights over the weekend. This may require an internet search. We were supposed to go to the Elks this evening, but we stayed inside between the cold and the rain, and Mary was not quite over her mini-cold.
Mary plated the meal with a big smile. I was ready, having set the table, poured a glass of chardonnay, and lit the dinner candles. It was dinner time.
You might be a redneck if…Your only condiment on the dining room table is the economy-size bottle of ketchup. I checked, and we had a little A-1 sauce, which was all that was needed.
We dined in style with Alexa playing Monovani in the background; the lights dimmed, candles ablaze, and artificial stars on the ceiling courtesy of Colleen. This is life as it should be. We were in the sack at 7:00 pm, and with the windows open, the rain sounds sent us off to sleep immediately.
It rained all night long and the wind was ferocious! It blew over a large potted night blooming jasmine ; I heard the crash but decided to stay in bed; too cold and wet!
