It was raining all day, so we did minimal activities. We went to get our hair taken care of; me a cut and Mary a hairdo. I took 20 minutes, and Mary took three hours. That was fine because we went to the Greek restaurant adjacent to the hair parlor and had lunch!
We ordered saganaki, the name of a Greek pan, and a flaming cheese appetizer.
Mary and I split our orders, with her having domales (stuffed grape leaves), and I went for spanakopita.
We returned home and stayed inside. We were supposed to go to the Elks but decided dinner and movies with family would be better. Bob and Robin came over at about 5:00 PM, and we had Robin’s salad and Mary’s homemade chili with cornbread. We watched two movies; one with Clink Eastwood and one with John Wayne.
The Eastwood movie was entitled “Unforgiven,” which was released in 1992. Summary: Retired Old West gunslinger William Munny reluctantly takes on one last job with the help of his old partner Ned Logan and a young man, The “Schofield Kid.”
The John Wayne movie was “Hondo” and was released in 1953. Summary: Army dispatch rider Hondo Lane discovers a woman and young son living in the midst of warring Apaches and becomes their protector.
The kids departed about 10:00 pm and we crashed soon thereafter!
