We Are Tired Of Being Sick!

Fact:  Christmas decorating sends nearly 15,000 people to the ER. If you’ve ever watched Clark Griswold decorate his house in Christmas Vacation, that stat likely doesn’t shock you. The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that 14,700 people visit hospital emergency rooms each November and December from holiday-related decorating accidents. So please, be caren you’re putting up the holly and the ivy.

Oops!!!

Today we are both feeling better but its been two weeks of us under the weather!  It gets tiresome!

Today we continued working on the house with Mary putting the final touches on the family and living room.  I worked outside to finish off a needed project; I replaced the flexible extension cord to the gazebo with a buried conduit containing outdoor Romex cable!

The old eyes do not work as well, as they should so I turned off all the power to the backyard thus avoiding coming into the house later with the world’s biggest grey-white afro and smelling like burnt rubber.

Now we have a GFI outlet on the gazebo wired directly into the back wall junction box.

It was getting dark as I came inside and Mary fixed a tabouli salad and a casserole for dinner; it was delightful, and we ate off of Christmas plates!  She loves to cook and I love to eat, it’s a good matchup!  She even fixed a batch of home-baked bread!

Once, Mary taught me to use mint when I cook to make them taste more exciting. She always gives sage advice!

Marking food for dinner in her latest Christmas costume!

As it got dark, I asked Alexa to “Turn on the gazebo” and it came to light just like that.  I also put an Alexa Dot in the gazebo so we can control it locally and listen to music.  The table has a built-in gas fire pit so we can enjoy cool evenings sitting in the yard.

Dang! It works!

We were tired, so after watching additional episodes of Ghosts and folding the clothes, we crashed! Tomorrow we will finish the inside of the house!

Just a thought!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
