One More Day…

Hospital: A place where people who are run down wind up.

They decided to keep her in one more day to assure the infection is eliminated and she was so ready to come home today.  I ran back and forth several times and brought her a great Mexican lunch but alas, I was a few minutes late and she had finished lunch already!

I did chores around the house mostly cleaning closets and packing up stuff to save for a later date and NOT store in the closets!  I spent an hour de-wiring the office…do you remember when mom and dad said “do not make an octopus?”.

In the “old days” every [lug in was 100-300 Watts and you should never have more than 1500 watts on a single circuit! I can remember at Christmas blowing fuses (yes, fuses, NOT circuit breakers).

Did You Know?  The words “In God We Trust” was put on the penny for those of us who would out a penny in the fuse box!

It’s OK these days… Just messy!

I returned to the hospital several times, the last was at 8:30  PM when I brought ice cream and chocolate chip tookies…the kind we have every evening!  The visit was not great as she was apparently confused again plus the nurse revealed that there is a narrowing of her right carotid artery meaning some correction is needed to prevent future events.  More to follow!

Did You Know? The carotid arteries are major blood vessels in the neck that supply blood to the brain, neck, and face. There are two carotid arteries, one on the right and one on the left. In the neck, each carotid artery branches into two divisions: The internal carotid artery supplies blood to the brain.

We are pretty complex machines!

Always something!

That’s her “Oh No! hospital food again look!

Being an OK husband, I brought her Mexican this evening but she had already chomped on some of the hospital stuff…and she was not hungry since she has not done anything except walk to the can!

But, I surprised her by bringing her favorite dessert (vanilla ice cream with almonds and chocolate chips) plus I made some chocolate chip tookies for her…she was worried about the ice cream being mushy but I fooled her.  I put the ice cream in a tightly sealed contained several hours earlier so the container was frozen!  The ice cream arrived firm…just like home!

Just like home!

Time to crash! I headed home about 9:30 PM which is within walking distance of our house…by walking distance, I mean 45 minutes!
