Sunday, A Day To Rest… NOT!

Up and at it… We are having the main power panel replaced so Paul has been trying to figure out where all the circuitry is going! The garage is not figured out yet so he must kill power to the house for an hour or so to fix/replace some circuitry.

It is time to get ready to go!  Go, who us?  Yep!  We headed to Garden Grove Elks for the Spring Wine Tasting event.  We got there right on time at 12:30 PM but the start was quite late.  At 1:45 PM they started the tasting and we had to be gone by 2:00 PM.

Indeed!

Paul carefully positioned him self by the tasting table as the Pledge of Allegiance was being said. Immediately afterwords, Paul got a taste of Chardonnay and a sparkling wine returning to the table at 1:58 PM.  Two minutes remaining. Sue made good selections.  We tasted and procured!  We really did not need the wine but it was for charity so we got two cases, one of each!

Zoom to Los Cerritos Performing Arts Center to see the 3:00 PM performance of “Dance To The Movies”. We arrived at 2:45 PM, just in time!

The guys did enjoy the costumes

While we expected music and dancing of the 1930’s-1950’s, their movie selection was all over the place!  The performance was done in “modern dance” by members of the cast of “Dancing with the Star’s” and other TV shows we have never watched.  It was “interesting”, some of our group really enjoyed it while some of us are still asking ourselves, “what was that?”

Did You Know: This high-octane production features celebrity pros from Dancing With the Stars and finalists from So You Think You Can Dance, and American Idol. Dance to the Movies re-creates memorable moments from films such as West Side Story, Grease, Chicago, Singin’ in the Rain, and Moulin Rouge. Choreography to scores from Titanic, The Matrix, Willy Wonka, and Harry Potter will also be performed. The lineup features Dancing With the Star pros Anna Trebunskaya and Dmitry Chaplin; So You Think You Can Dance veterans Jonathan Platero, Legacy, and Randi Strong; American Idol’s Vonzell Solomon and Rayvon Owen; and special guest Lesley Ann Warren.

We were supposed to meet Mike at the wine tasting but we were in and out so fast that we missed him!  He texted us and we apologized and told him to meet us at the Arte Cafe… He did and he filled out the group nicely!  We laughed and giggled to two hours and a half hours!

What a great group! Left-to-right: Irene, Donna, Bob, Mike, Paul, Sue, Marcia, and Leon!

After our “dinner party” we headed for home.  We arrived home at 8:05 PM which was just enough time for Sue to hit the treadmill!  We watched a murder mystery and then an NCIS and then Cheers before crashing.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
