So Long, Spooky Season. It’s Turkey Time!

Today begins the undecorating activities, and this year, hopefully, we will carefully fill the storage containers room-by-room and label everything!  Ya, right!

We had our hair appointments this morning in Huntington Beach, so we flew the coop at 9:00 am in order to stop at the bagel store next to the shop and have breakfast!

MAry got her cheese bagel and I did the cheese and jalapeno!

The store is quite nice and the proprietor now knows us.

We have to go earlier because most of the good bagels were gone already!

AT 11:00 an we directed GOS to get us to Benji’s in Tustin for lunch!  We sat right by the door and watched all the customers come and go.  The place was filled to the brim!  Mary, being under the weather, decided  to order Jewish Penicillin (chicken noodle soup).  I just went for the special, a pastrami sandwich that is about 12″ thick!  You would have to be a hippopotamus to bite into it!   With all my will power, I could only devour 1/2 the sandwich so the rest went to Jeff, our neighbor.

The display cases were chocked full to delights!

Around 2:00 pm we finally got home and Mary headed for the TV Room (our “Living Room” to watch her series and work on her needle point.   On the other hand, I retrieved the seven trash cans we had out front and took them to their homes.

While surfing the web, maintly Facebook, I ran upon an article about the first reveiver I ever had, a Hallicrafters S-38.  Read about what the “Hams” thought of it here.   Mine worked fine but I was happy to trade up to an SX-101 by the same company!

I was able to hear the world with this little guy.  I loved listening to Radio Moscow and their great claims of Communist and their amazing feats!  Pure B.S. but interesting to listen to.

Mary was still feeling poorly so I fixed dinner.  OK, I made toast, opened a soup can, and pour a glass of wine to wash the taste of the tea away.  We watched TV until 9:00 pm when I took control of the situation and ordered her to bed  (I did it in my whispering voice so she would not hear me!).

Hello November, we welcome you with open arms!!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
