Last Day Of The Year… We Await Midnight!

I was going to quit all my bad habits for the new year, but then I remembered that nobody likes a quitter.

Too old to change!

We went to bed early to get rest and then woke up early because we were not tired, sometimes you can’t win!

I thought a lot about my family as they are all gone now.  They were a fine group of people and I miss them terribly this time of year! Dad had three sisters and a stepsister not shown.  These folks are “salt-of-the-earth” people that made thous country great doing their thing!

We talked to Colleen for quite a while this morning, sharing the plans for the day and our planned skype time!

Then we chatted with Robin, who is organizing the front desk for us tonight! Daughter Michele can’t make it tonight so Lisa is going to stand in and she will do a fantastic job, especially with her “Hollywood” look!

Hollywood Lisa will assist in greeting our guests!

They know how to do it.  We all wish Colleen were here as she would be a perfect addition to this fantastic group!

Tomorrow shall be a new year! Hello from Old Ranch Country Club 12/31/2018

First thing first, get the clothes out for tonight making sure the ol’ tuxedo fits!  Our cleaning folks reschedule until Friday so we are ready to attack some Indian delicacies around noon. Chili Chicken Tika here I come!

I had to get a new belt while we were out since I have a new sidearm.  I have been carrying for a while, and the new weapon requires another inch on my belt!  I blame it on the holster, certainly not my diet! 38″ is too small; 40″ is a little loose; loose will have to do! The holster fits just fine now!

The holster causes another 1/2″ to be needed on each side, so the 38″ belt will not work anymore!

Today we went to our favorite Indian place in Sunset Beach, where I globbed down some Chili Chicken Tika, and it was so hot I had perspiration running down my face and my nose looked like it had run a 10K!  I polished it off with a beer and was ready for a nap, but alas, not today.  Today, we run back and forth to Old Ranch, making sure all is OK for tonight’s shindig! As of today, at 2:31 PM, we are at 116 family and guests!

Just us watching the fun!

The kids and grandkids get along wonderfully and enjoy each other’s company! We were so happy to have Zachary and Zack join us this evening. Connor, not shown n this picture, was practicing his gambling skills in the next room over!

BIG THANKS TO ROBIN, PETE, BOB, and LISA for greeting our 120 guests, seating them, fixing seating issues, and being so helpful to us during the party.  Grandma and I are VERY PROUD of you and grateful for you kind assistance!

Our family gets along with each other!

The end of the evening, 12:30 PM, we were ready to go home and crash!   But first, the family photo capturing the moment! The kids/grandkids helped us to the car, and we were on our way!

Zack & Becca plus Connor & Kerrick made the evening even more enjoyable!  Nice to have the younger generation join us ol’ farts during an evening of celebration.  The secret, the Old Ranch Members Party was going on next door so they could dance to the DJ and mingle with the younger set! All is OK!

Love our family! Brings joy to our hearts, but we miss Colleen and Joe!

One fantastic evening.  We had some many friends stop by and thank us for the efforts to get it all organized and arrange everything!  Their gestures made us feel pretty good.  It’s nice to have friends and more delightful to have 100+ friends!
