Three Quarters Of A Century; Old As Dirt!

“Three phrases that sum up Christmas are: Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men, and Batteries not Included.”

OK, I admit.  I will be 75 tomorrow, and I am celebrating by going to two doctor’s offices!  How do we celebrate, go to doctors’ offices!  Well, at least we are alive and kicking!

Growing up, I loved Amos and Andy.  Now that I am 75, I enjoy them more as they brought good-hearted comedy to the television.  They were fantastic actors and just made me smile with their shenanigans, on par with Lauren & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, etc.  Funny and positive! watch (BTW: TV in those days was copied via kinescope, meaning a movie of a TV monitor, so the resolution and quality is not high, but the important message is there… good guys with great hearts).

Colleen called us and reminded us that Mark has never seen the country club, so we decided to go there for brunch.  We walked in, and it was full to the hilt.  Juan told us the upstairs dining area was now open, so we decided that would be a great view! Off we go, minding my own business.  We took the elevator to the second floor and when the doors opened…

The girls pulled one off on me!  The room was full of family and friends.  All four of our kids were there and six grandkids. The grandkids who were not there (after-all, they live in New Hampshire) Skyped-in and wished me a happy birthday.  The had pictures and balloons and a lot of “Did You Knows.”  I did NOT have a camera, for the first time, and no presence of mind to take out the iPhone. Robin, the wizard she is, arranged a professional photographer to be there and capture the moments!  Wow!

Thank you, family and friends!

Was it a surprise? Duh!!

We partied and visited and ate, and there was a program of teasing me about my “Did You Know’s” and my favorite quotes(Life Is Good).  Join the fun!

By the time we got home, we were exhausted!!!  But, after an hour’s nap, we were ready to go out again, and we did, to the Himalayan Grill with Colleen, Robin, and their families plus Hannah and Lisa!

We love Indian dining!

When our family gets together, its so much fun as we go back a long time and dredge up previous events!

Hannah and Lisa were with us! I can’t believe they are 28 and 25!

Colleen and Mark made the evening special as I teased Mark about the spicey food but downed it like a champ!

Always fun to be with this group!

And then there was Miss Sneaky, the Party Planner!

Robin pulled this off very well!!!

On the way home we drove around the hood and looked at decorations. Even our place looked decorated!

The electric company loves to see the houses decorated!

After dinner, we went home and crashed because Monday is a big day! Doctor’s offices and Disneyland!
