The first time I got a universal remote control I thought to myself, “This changes everything”.
We again attacked the puzzle with a vengeance getting about 25 or so pieces put into place… this is going to be a tough one!
The weather was “cold” so we stayed in the house most of the day. We also decided that golf was not going to happen!
We cleaned up early as we have a 10:30 appointment with our tax lady, Pamela. She was just a girl when we first met her and how her family is away at college…how time flies.
I was SO READY…had everything I needed plus I took the laptop so I could access banking records… we were in and out in 45 minutes minutes. Sue was proud of me; every year I get better and organizing the taxes!. We hope to get the “bad” news in about two weeks. It’s a rate race… you get taxed on money you take form the IRA but you have to take money form the IRA to pay the taxes…I am going to figure out how to beat this in 2019.
So, where to eat? Duh! We are a few blocks from George’s Greek Cafe and off we went…great dining. We both did the lentil soup (did we say proteins) and we shared the vegetarian appetizers. Selection of Vegetarian Dolmathes, Falafel, Spanakopites and Kalamata Olives. Served with Tzantziki Sauce, Humus, and Pita Bread.
We had saganaki, our favorite. In Greek cuisine, saganaki (Greek ????????) is any one of a variety of dishes prepared in a small frying pan, the best-known being an appetizer of fried cheese.
Not, it is NOT Japanese…
Did You Know? The dishes are named for the frying pan in which they are prepared, called a saganaki, which is a diminutive of sagani, a frying pan with two handles, which comes from the Turkish word sahan ‘copper dish’,
After a great lunch, we headed home so I could take a nap before getting ready to go to the Phoenix Club for dancing. I drank four beers (O’Doul’s) and it was hard to drive home…kept wanting to stop for as the beer was really working.
Made it home, we watched TV and did our tookies! Time to jump into a nice warm bed and laugh at the outside weather!
