Once a year, Roger’s Gardens sponsors “Tomatomania”. Tomato suppliers come in and show almost 300 different kinds of tomatoes! We carefully go through the alphabetically sorted plants and select the ones we want. This year we are going to get only 30 different kinds so we keep enough room for the corn!
The weather was perfect 75 degrees. Greg joined us and he went and found cacti to purchase while we were busy going through the tomatoes!
We found more spoon tomatoes today. Spoon tomatoes are very very small and you can actually fit 20+ tomatoes in a table spoon! Great conversation items.
We filled our cart including getting tomatoes for Teri and James! Now we must dine and where else but Cucina Enoteca! Our waiter was Michael as he always looks for us. Three of us laughed and giggled for another hour!
Paul hears this sweet voice saying… “Over here you big hunk… The cart need you!”
Oh no! All good things must come to an end! The winter garden remnants must go and the new crop be put in which means the soil must be amended, fertilizer spread, and old plants tossed! We saved 15 onion plants and Sue made French Onion Soup out of them!
Paul worked until about 5:00 PM when it was time to cleanup and go to the Phoenix Club for an evening of dancing with friends. Nine Carat Gold was playing so Irene joined us for the evening. Conner was also there making it a special evening. Dancing after hard work is a good thing as the ol’ muscles get warmed up!
We headed for home about 10:30 PM and watched a Columbo before crashing!
