Slow Day For Us; Of To The Cerritos Center For The Performing Arts

We worked around the house.  Sue did the treadmill while Paul hit the front yard.  Keeping up with the vegetables is a full time job!  We got cleaned up mid-afternoon and headed for Cerritos Performing Arts Center to see the Count Basie Orchestra.  The Count Basie Orchestra, “more than any other, was the epitome of swing, of jazz that moved with a built-in flowing intensity,” raves The New York Times. The Grammy-winning band’s hits include April in Paris, One O’Clock Jump, and Shiny Stockings. Discovered by Count Basie, Jazz powerhouse Carmen Bradford has been cited by the Los Angeles Times for her “control of mood and dynamics.” Her albums include Finally Yours, With Respect, and Home With You. Comedian Robert Lee hosts the show.    We asked Marianne and Craig to be our guests and we met up with the Gunnersons.

We all ended up at Old Ranch meeting up with Linda (James was under the weather).  We had a great time and then went home to complete the treadmill and watch a movie.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
