Off To The Hospital

It is 0-Dark Thirty and we are up and getting ready for the drive to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.  We departed at 5:30 AM arriving at 6:00 AM on the dot.  Paperwork was done early so all we had to do was sit and wait, and wait, and wait.  Around 7:30 AM the nurse came out and got her for the preparations.

Thar she goes…

Normally hospitals are pretty clean but this morning, I killed a mouse in the recovery room.  It was apparently next to the computer on the roll-around and BAM, I nailed it!

Got him!!

We departed the hospital at 10:00 AM and headed home to get our sunglasses before going to CPK for lunch!  Driving home I got a shot of our street and I knew it was winter because the car was stopped and I could hear the leaves hitting the top of the van.

Dear Mom,

I wish I could send you this picture. You amazed me that at the age of 60 you took up painting, but, hey, you could do anything you set your mind to doing! I often tell on you to our friends! Do you remember taking oil painting classes at VEnice High School? I remember you leaving the house about 6:00 PM and returning at 9:30 PM and each week was another subject, you know, flowers, fruit, landscapes, etc. Well, the evening I remember is when you returned home after about 30 minutes and you were so made (just like a wet hen). I heard you tell dad that you would not go back and “Why the hell was this mad sitting down in front of the class NAKED with everything hanging out?” You were really upset.

I have several of your early paintings now as family members have returned them to me and I have dusted them off and hiung them around the house. I was and remain proud of my “do anything” mom!

I love you Mom!

Colleen said her temperature as 11 degrees; it was a nice 75 here today!

After getting home, I put Sue to bed and she crashed until after 6:00 PM.  Between the anesthesia and getting up at 0-dark-thirty, she was worn out!

we did not go to Melanie’s this evening but opted to crash!  Night everyone!
