Worrying is stupid. It’s like walking around with an umbrella, waiting for it to rain
It began last night about 3:00 AM…coming down like a cow wee weeing on a flat rock (an ol’ country saying). We got up, had our “champagne” and worked on the puzzle for another hour. We are getting there… it is about 60% done. I have learned about my eyesight! I do not to blues and greens very well anymore!
We Echo’ed to Jon, Colleen, Greg, Lisa, and Zack today… Ow it is time to get Michele on board! Robin was out and about so we missed her but her Facebook account revealed she we with friends doing the town!
It appeared as though we were going to be home so I made a pot (one pound) of beans and this time I used just water… It will be an interesting experiment as the last three times I used onions, peppers, garlic and other spices as the beans cooked!
Old Memories: Growing up we always had a pot of pinto beans on the stove and Dad and I would come in from the yard and devour the beans by the bucket full. We would often put them on a pieve of sliced white bread, steaming hot beans just filled the house with great smells. They were a mean unto themselves. Maybe that’s why Dad and I gravitated to Mexican food as we loved the beans (and rice).
In the Southern United States, pinto beans were once a staple, especially during the winter months. Some organizations and churches in rural areas still sponsor “pinto bean suppers” for social gatherings and fund raisers.
The rain let up a bit so I dashed to the local Ralph’s to pick up some goodies making it back just in time for the clouds to open and rain to pour down again! The forecast says rain on and off tomorrow but Wednesday will bring another significant storm!
We watched some TV in the afternoon and decided NOT to go to Garden Grove Elks after last nights sickness. We did not get a lot of rest/sleep so we just vegetated on the boob-tube until about 10:15 PM at which time we crashed.
Tomorrow brings wine tasting with Bob and Donna and enjoying life…
