Nothing happens unless something is moved!
My Memories… We lived on a small street in West Los Angeles and we seldom locked the doors unless we were going to be gone for a day or so. We had black folks on our street, the Banks Family. Went to school and played with Kelly in Jr. High and High School…never thought about his “color”.
Democrats and Republicans had some differences but the elections were not dirty. Was there racial bias, yup! Many of the Jewish people looked down on me as a Gentile but I just ignored them.
Dad employed Mexicans, Women, Blacks and they were treated as just plain people. They came to our home, we went to social events together…and my family came right out of the South! We always saw something better on the horizon. We WORKED for our money. Welfare was relegated to the churches and families…where it belongs.
Then came the new breed of dummocrats and “The Great Society”…otherwise known as “I give you free stuff if you vote for me”! The country has not been the same since.
Back to the Puzzle! Now I know what “fits and spurts” means! Definition – “In short, inconsistent, and irregular intervals, as of motion or progress.” The puzzle began to work today… we got the bottom half about 75% completed. Once the major pieces are in place, things seem to go faster.
We Echoed to Colleen this morning and say the great grandkids. Callan is such a silly boy! He offered my his drink via the Ecjo Show…of course, I made like I was drinking it…and then I said, “Sorry, I finished it”. He looked! We both laughed.
Now we have all the kids (Robin, Joe, Colleen) except Michele outfitted with Echo show and we included Jon and Zack in the group plus Crazy Greg. Michele is next on the list. It’s great to be able to see the kids and grandkids visually anytime!
Sue got her ears lowered at 11:00 AM and then we went to Taco Surf for lunch. I did a tamale and Sue attacked the veggie burrito… it won!
Heard of “The Great Tamales Incident?” During a visit to San Antonio in 1976, former president Gerald Ford bit into a tamale without removing the corn husk wrapper. Ay caramba! Most tamale wrappings are intended only as packaging and not meant to be eaten. Don’t even think about chomping down on banana leaf or tree bark wrappings, not to mention the plastic wrap, foil or fabric sometimes encasing your tamale. But Swiss chard or hoja santa might be okay.
After lunch, I went to the bookstore to get some additional reading materials for my bride and the wine store to replenish our shelves.
We took a nap getting ready for the GG Elks. Right before leaving we got a call from the urologist saying the infection has come back and he was ordering a prescription. We went to Garden Grove and met up with the gang but Sue was not up to speed so I decided to leave early and get the prescription filled so she could start it early.
Quick stop on the way home!
We watched some TV but headed to bed early…Sue was terribly sick. I stayed up until about 3:30 AM taking care of her. Hope tings are better tomorrow!
BTW, it began raining here at 3:00 AM and it is supposed to rain all day!
