Ham and eggs. A day’s work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig.
It’s been 4,364 days ago when we retired and are loving every second of it! On the 17th it will have been twelve years of retirement!
Random Thought: We retired because we were through with work! The company had changed and the people had changed. “Management” was weak and the newbies had no spirit of the work assignments being an adventure…40 hours and gone! We wondered after so many years what we would do every day as we both worked 50-60 hours a week. Within a week, we wondered why we didn’t do it earlier. We have never been so busy just enjoying the simple things!
Well…things are looking up…no rain today! We worked on “the puzzle” for a while and made a lot of progress…Wednesday looks like the day for completion!
We got cleaned up after our late breakfast and headed to the GG Elks for the semi-annual charity wine tasting event at 1:30 PM.
When we walked into the Elks, we thought it had been cancelled but the event had moved into the ballroom as it has become so popular. Bob and Donna were going to try to make it but alas, they got caught up at a brunch. We sat with old friends and had a great afternoon. Since it was a charity, we bought two cases of wine, a $200 gift basket and a fist full of raffle tickets… It’s a good cause!
While at the wine tasting I told Terry about Groucho in a film from the 1930’s. He was poured a glass of wine and Groucho asked the waiter about the vintage. The waiter said “It a 1927, it’s seven years old”. Groucho yelled at him “This is supposed to be a classy restaurant, don’t you have anything fresher than that?” Funny line! I have been using it for years!
We found out someone special is playing softball!
We returned home and watched a move and some TV before crashing at 10:15 PM. We did get some bad news…we lost Drop Dead Diva.
The Lifetime drama Drop Dead Diva is scheduled for removal from Netflix in the United States in March 2019. Here’s your first warning, why it’s leaving, where it’ll end up and if you should give the show.
In case you have never heard of this show before, allow us to give you a bit of an insight that will help you determine whether its worth your time.
Back when Lifetime was at the height of its scripted content game, Drop Dead Diva was one of its biggest shows. It started airing back in 2009 and ran for six seasons concluding in 2014. The series has been on Netflix since 2011.
The series is about a luxurious model who passes away but returns as an overweight lawyer who has to uncover the true meaning of inner beauty. It’s a little camp and is perfect for a girls night in.
