Monday… A New Week Begins! An Interesting Day!

Paul did his morning walk which was about three miles!  The weather was a bit chilly but after ten minutes it was comfortable!

Nice walk this morning

Our apple tree is doing super.   It looks a little odd because it is actually three types of apples on one trunk so some of the branches are bare until it is their time to bloom.

The blossoms are coming out quite nicely and it may be time to give him a feeding!  We are going to spray it this year to keep the worms away! The apple maggots form if the flies lay their eggs on the blossoms.  We hate using pesticides but alas, it is needed fore the apples!

Our apple tree is getting full of flowers meaning the apples will be forming in the next few weeks

As Paul turned the corner, he heard a deep voice of a baby dog!  Baby dog?  We think not!  He was standing up against a six foot block wall and peering over it announcing to the world that he was there and ready to be walked!

Bark the wonder dog was creating quite a fuss!  Paul got within a few inches of him and “talked” to him… He paid attention!

A little farther down the street,  a turtle pulled up next to Paul and wanted to race.  Paul got his license plate number as he hurled down the street in a cloud of dust and a hearty “Hi Yo Turtle, Away”.  Speedy little guy!  He left Paul in the dust!  He did not, however, have a mask for an Indian sidekick, go figure.

He was faster than Paul by about 50 miles per hour

After getting home and having lunch, Sue did some treadmill.  Paul did some gardening in the light rain but came in when the rain started getting heavy!  We then headed to Malarkey’s for our Monday night get together.  Lusia was going to  join us but she had stepped on a board with a nail in it and it went into her foot which means tetanus shot, pain pills, off the feet and no driving!  Next week for sure!

The day was dreary so we thought “No sunset tonight”… We were amazed!

Spectacular sunset was getting underway!

As the sun dropped, the clouds let the sun come through and we had an amazing sunset!  From grey to gold in a few seconds!  Irene just showed up as the sky began to change.  Even the wait staff had their phones out taking pictures of the event.

Gold everywhere covering the entire horizon

It was like God heard our thoughts and decided to spice things up a bit.  He turned on the lights and the  lights were golden covering half the sky!

The sky lit up as the Sun made its way west

As the sun set deeper into the ocean, the colors dramatically changed to blues and then purples! Ten minutes later, we were in the dark.

Then it got purple!

Irene, Sue, and Paul had a great evening.  We shared a little dinner, a glass of wine and recapped the last weeks activities and planned for the next weeks activities!

We headed home to watch some TV and do some treadmill before crashing!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
