We worked around the house with Paul attempting to get the remote garage door opener working. We had lunch, cleaned up, and headed to ORCC for a round of golf… Well, nine holes. It was a good day for golf!
We met up with Bunnaford after the game and had a drink before going to dinner at Kobe.
Last week while at ORCC, we asked Arturo (one of our favorite waiters/bartenders) if he liked sushi and he said yes! So we told him about Manny, the Mexican sushi chef at Kobe and how wonderful he was. Arturo sounded excited so we invited him to join us today!
Did You Know? Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi, has become popular throughout the world. As of 2011, Japan overtook France in number of Michelin-starred restaurants and has maintained the title since.
We found out that Arturo missed work yesterday and was feeling poorly. So, we checked the messages and there it was…. We got a wave off! We asked what happened and apparently he drove his mom down to Mexico and made the mistake of drinking the water in Mexico… Yep! Montezuma’s Revenge.
Did You Know? Traveler’s diarrhea (TD) is a stomach and intestinal infection. TD is defined as the passage of unformed stool (one or more by some definitions, three or more by others) while traveling.[It may be accompanied by abdominal cramps, nausea, fever, and bloating. Occasionally bloody diarrhea may occur. Most travelers recover within four days with little or no treatment. About 10% of people may have symptoms for a week.
So, we rescheduled. Arturo mentioned that bottled water is his new best friend! We did take pictures of the food and sent it to him… Probably not a great idea since he was sick! But, Paul did it anyway!
Manny always whips up something special for Paul… Below is a picture of a rolled up zucchini with snow crab and Manny’s Special Sauce on the inside!
Paul had to have octopus… The seven legged variety.
Then it happened, we thought of Little Lilly and…
We headed for home, missing Arturo, but planning for another visit next week!
