It’s A Work Day

I’m great at multitasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at once.

The three of us were up early and had a cup of coffee at the table before getting ready for our respective works.  Robin had doctor’s appointments and needed to visit her sister today.  Mary had a full day of doctoring in Huntington Beach.  I had a list of things to do a mile long!

All night long, I heard my iPhone going off as the security system alerts me when people are near the house or in the house.  When I got up, there was no iPhone tobe found. I looked and looked and finally had to use iCould.com to find it.  Well, I had put my laundry, sheets on top of the iPhone and could not hear it.

We talked about many topics.  I remember Mary saying, “I want my children to have all the things I couldn’t afford. Then I want to move in with them.”

The girls departed, leaving me along with Dr. Scout, The Wonder Dog.  We examined the list and decided to divide and conquer.  Scout decided to watch for elephants and chase them out of the yard while I did everything else.

Scout was trying to tell me about a song he heard.  I think I finally figured it out.

So, what did I do? I went to the jewelry store, the bank, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ralph’s Market, CVS,  and finally to the gas station.   I went wild at BB&B and Ralph’s; I had bags of goodies to bring into the house.  When I came back, I worked around the house.

I was busier than a one-armed paper hanger!

Mary worked today, so I decided to make her dinner.  First, I made a pot of pinto beans, another corned beef, and cabbage dinner, and for the piece de resistance, I decided to make Mary homemade Irish soda bread.

The bread turned out great!

We devoured dinner and finally decided it time to say goodbye.  Mary drove home around 7:00 PM, and I crashed from all the work of the day.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
