The Rat Race Starts today! Wait, We Are NOT In The Race!

The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.

The puzzle awaits our expert eyes and extreme patience but what do you do when the last 100 pieces are all the same color? “Days To Remember” is turning into “Weeks To Remember”! We did not know that something that is 21.25 in. X 15 in would be so hard to put together!

The lake, the green tree, and the left-hand pathway are difficult!

Done! We departed for doctor’s appointment #1 today! Time to get someone to look at Sue’s left arm as it is so sore we cannot dance! This afternoon we have Dr. Petrossian and perhaps a schedule for the surgery.

I thought a lot about yesterday’s lunch and wished that Zack’s two great-grandfathers would have been there to see the man he grew into. Paul and Charlie would have smiled at each other and said “Good Job”!

Three generations… the oldest generation is taking the picture!
(Zack, Remy, and Mitch)

This morning I visited the local storage facility which is about 0.6 miles from our front door…I can almost walk it (if the items needed were anything I could carry!). They are getting a lot of stuff real soon and I can stop worrying about the storage.

We went to the local doctor about Sue’s arm and got some pills and some physical therapy we are going to try. By the time we got out of there, it was time for lunch. Sore arm versus going out…duh, we went to CPK!

After lunch, we picked up the prescription and headed home resting for a while before going back to doctor #2.

We have some pre-surgery testing to do and then the surgery will be scheduled, likely the first part of next week.

Returning home, we waited until 6:00 PM and went to Melanie’s to meet up with Irene! By the time we got there, the Sun was setting. The Sun was behind the homes that are on the water!

A beautiful sunset it was!

We talked for quite a while mostly coordinating the next few months and the season is upon us! We talked about Halloween and the pumpkin carving which should be fun this year as the Brits will be back amongst us!

Yep! Looks like our great-grandchildren have been busy!!

From Melanie’s, we headed home to enjoy a pleasant evening watching various series. It’s nice to have an Echo in the car as I ask Alexa to turn on the TV, go to Netflix, and select the latest Grey’s Anatomy before we go into the house. Plus, we turn on the front yard lights making it easy to avoid the pesky spiders that seem to enjoy this time of year!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
