One More Day And 2018 Is Bye Bye

My resolution was to read more so I put the subtitles on my tv!

Personally I am happy to see 2018 go as we have had so many medical issues but all is on the right track now! What lies ahead…who knows! With my bride by my side all is possible!!

We slept late today (almost 8:00 AM) and decided to go out for lunch to our second most favorite Indian establishment, Royal Khyber at South Coast Plaza. It’s an upscale restaurant and we have been going there for 32 years…the owner always greets us and has special words. He picked out a beer than ol’ Dave actually like and it was not a Bud! I think we took Jon and Sarah here once…if not, certainly the next time they come out!

Decisions Decisions!

It was so good I decided to text Jon in New Hampshire and let him know we were dining Indian as he likes Indian so well…we introduced it to him and Sarah. Usually I photo the meal but a) I was hungry, b) Sue and I were having so much fun, and c) I kept the iPhone in m pocket. So, at the end of the meal, I sent Jon this:

He wanted me to airmail it to them!

Sorry Jon but it was good and after my Gin and Tonic Tall I did have a Mango Lassee just for you!

After lunch we returned home and I worked on the New Years Eve website and more on the seating arrangement…it’s hard to figure out with all the variables… who dances, who does not dance a lot, who wants to be close to the floor, who close to the bar, who close to gambleing, and wbo want to sit with/near whom? My head hurts!

I worked more on the theme movie…. Learning ProSho Web again! It has been a while!

We decided not to go out tonight as I am still nursing the cold and it is about gone…cough has almost stopped. I sept for three hours this afternoon and it felt good. We watched YB and I was thing about my father.

Random Memories:  When I sit in front of my 80″ flat screen TV and select items from our Fire TV, Apple TV, smart TV and think that when Dad passed, albeit 48 years ago, all we had was 13 channels, some still in black and white…cable was unheard of, satellite TV was a science fiction  dream, and in home recording, not roof top antennas, and being able to control the whole mess with your voice using Alexa…WOW.  Dad would be flabbergasted!  Remember, we grew up wihout electricity in Arkansas!

Dad and I watched TV a lot and we would laugh so much at the good comedy.  Comedy that was NOT dirty, embarrassing, and referring to bodily parts every other sentence.  Comedy you could share with your kids, your neighbors, your friends without worrying about propriety!

Take a look below…aired July 3, 1952. George is excited about a new secretary desk. Gracie thinks George is talking about a person and hires a Private Investigator to find out who “she” is. Gracie is not the only one who is confused. The PI mistakes Harry Morton for George.

The weather has been cool…in the 30’s again last night.. and it is forecasted to get to 38 by 6:00 AM. The Minions about summed it up!

Now that there is a visual!

Just thinking out loud but tomorrow night it will be like…Dang! Just looked at the clock. It’s officially New Year’s Eve, you only have a couple of hours to do all the things you will resolve not to do in the new year.

We watched TV until about 11:00 PM and then crashed. I took a big dose of narcotic filled cough syrup so I am about to go off to night-night!

We had a great day…I love the days spent with by bride as we still laugh and giggle and have fun! I am a lucky guy!!!
