It’s Here! It’s Here! Friday! Why Do We Care, We’re Retired!

We are so retired we need the calendar to tell what day of the week it is…a good thing! We do know it is Friday as tonight we have Topper’s.

We were planning a trip to Saratoga this weekend but, alas, Sue’s back is so bad that 20 hours in the car would be a very bad thing.

Paul walked, this time to the local chemist (as Brian and Jan would say).  He needed a refill and decided the four mile walk would be good!  A good look at the map reveals he took the long way there!  We need another route…next time we will employ our mapping skills!

Almost four miles!

Honk honk… and they are NOT poisonous

We watched some TV before getting cleaned up and ready to got outfitted in our best bib n’ tucker…yes, Topper’s was formal this evening!

Today was cold barely making it to 67 degrees so we had the heat inside set to 78!  At least we can afford to be warm!  Paul is working on a plan to extract the hot air form the attic and move it into the living area through an electronic air filter or perhaps through some heat transfer medium!  Seems off to have the heater on in May!  Damned that “Global Warming”…another silly liberal exercise!

We went to Topper’s arriving there at 5:00 PM, one hour ahead of the dance but only 30 minutes ahead of the board meeting!  Right on time.

We danced three dances selecting them by their ease and lack of range of motion…must care for the back!  We smiled and had fun in any event.  Moving together to the great big band tunes is always special!

We danced one dance then whole evening as Sue’s back was not doing well!

Since we take pictures, we generally eat our salad, have dinner boxed up, and then try the dessert!  Gotta say that tonight’s steak dinner really really looked great!  Everybody thought it quite good!

We were supposed to be in northern California to be with Hannah and her family celebrating her graduating from Law School but Sue’s back was so bad this week, we stayed home.  We called Hannah and let her know how sorry we were because we really wanted to go…things will be better!

We sat with the Vicky & Del, Pat & Margo, Will & Iris, and Neal & Nita.  Great fun this evening! We killed off a bottle of wine and drove home…that 0.5% alcohol wine is amazing!  We had a blast but stayed stober to entire evening! hic!

The St. Regis Chardonnay is a delicious, refreshing and elegant wine. The golden yellow colour reflects its light, aromatic, happy personality that evokes floral and fruity notes of exceptional depth and flavour including apricot and pear. On the palate, this Chardonnay offers a well-balanced, broad mouthfeel that leads into a medium finish that can be enjoyed at any time with a wide variety of dishes.

  • Grape variety(ies) 100% selected Chardonnay grapes
  • Colour Golden hues
  • Degree of alcohol less than 0.5%
  • Sugar content 4%
  • Calories 50 calories

Great substitute and healthy to boot!

We came home and watched two episodes of Royal Pain before crashing!

Upon arriving at home, there was a surprise on the front door step.. beautiful flowers! But the card had NO indication of the florist nor who they were from! We want to say thank you but….  It’s either Robin, Michele, Lisa Chartier, Joe, or Colleen…we think!  HELP!

The flowers were beautiful… Who is the culprit?

Also before we sat down to finish the night we got texts from Europe!

Robin and Bob went to Europe and we get text messages… IN Amsterm=dam!

Bob went to the famous “Red Shoe District”

OK… time to crash!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
