“It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.” ? Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy
Today we just relaxed. Paul walked for an hour but didn’t take any pictures as his mind was otherwise involved about the day coming up! He had a target today, Staples but alas, it was closed on Sunday until 10:00 AM and Paul did not wait! Amazon was used instead!
We went to a memorial service for Bob Schultz who passed recently after 90+ years on this planet. His friend of 20 years, Gayle, and Bob danced with us for the last many years and of course made it to Catalina several times.
Gayle is holding up pretty well and in fact, we invited her to go to Catalina with us (as our guests) so she would be with the dancing group. GAyle was always the life of the party! We coordinated it with her kids (as it is Galye’s birthday that weekend) and the kids agreed to postpone tneir plans for a celebration.
It was a nice get together with about 70 people joining in to remember Bob. Bob had three friends-groups, the golfers, the RV travel club group, and of course the dancers. It was quite interesting as it was a pot luck and we brought three dozed chocolate-chip cookies from the local bakery.
Gayle decided to “auction off” some of Bob’s memorabilia and Paul won a tee-short that said “Old Men Rule”! Loved it! We sat with the Zaitz, Mike Andersen, and several other of our dear friends.
After the memorial, we returned home and Paul did some chores around the house before settling in for an evening of movies on the TV.
