It’s Saturday and time for a walk! Walking is so relaxing!
Life is good. Paul is still sneaking up on 200 miles! The forecast is for Tuesday morning to pass 200 miles this year! Today a new walk… jogged into some new areas so see what there is to see.
We live in a fast-paced society. Walking slows us down. This is a good thing!
Wow! These roses were instant contest winners! We often wish they had their names available on little tags!
Back home, a quite brunch, and back to work in the garden and around the house! The long detour is Paul assisting a young lady carrying a free kids garden toy from the neighbors house to her house…she was having a problem and Paul offered assistance!
Ah..a masterful work of art and quite functional. Perhaps it should be entered in a garden contest? The anti-bird barrier was so good Paul had to think about how to get inside and get the berries.
Random Memories: Paul was thinking about his Dad, which he does often, and wondered what he would have thought about PVC? PVC was just starting to get popular and be able to replace metal galvanized pipe in the 1970’s so Paul senior really didn’t see its popularity!
If we had done this project in in 1970, when Dad passed, we would have made it of galvanized pipe, made ten trips to the store to get special parts (even if they made them). and been threading the pipes all day!
Dad would have been amazing that we could have sat down at the computer and ordered PVC on-line getting it the next day…oh, how the world has changed!
The garden was quite thirsty so Paul ran the soaker-hose almost all day…everyone was perked up by the end of the day!
The garden was designed so we could walk between the beds, sit down to weed, and not have to bend over too much to pick the wonderful harvests…it worked! Love the raised beds!
OK..a little TV and then off to the Elks in Garden Grove to hear Dave Ambrose! Most of the gang was there tonight including the Finch’s, Zaitz, Kuhn’s, Wil and Iris, Brander’s, Liles, and the Woolston’s. We all had to move as a party was underway and they were so loud we could not hear ourselves. In fact, Bob Z. leaned over and complained that he could not hear himself fart…Paul told him to get new batteries!
Friends are people who know you really well and like you anyway
We headed home about 10:00 PM and watched some TV, had a chocolate chip tookie, and crashed! To quote The Cookie Monster “Sometimes me think, ‘What is friend?’ Then me say, ‘Friend is someone to share the last cookie with.”
