Friday The 23rd… What Were We Doing 30 Years Ago?

Things To Ponder:

  • Do twins ever realize that one of them is unplanned?
  • If poison expires, is it more poisonous or is it no longer poisonous?
  • Which letter is silent in the word “Scent”, the S or the C?
  • Why is the letter W, in English, called double U? Shouldn’t it be called double V?

Time to walk! 2.6 miles per hour today… Just think, at that rate Paul could walk to New York in 1072 hours or 134 days (at 8 hours/day)!  Guess Paul had better learn to speed up a bit!  We can see it now, Paul on roller blades hanging on to a rope behind a Greyhoud Bus going down the highway!

Speeding along at a blinding pace!

One can easily detect we have rabbits in the neighborhood as the traps have been set at many houses.  They use rabbit images and little eggs to catch the critters!  It seems to always happen this time every year, curious!  I wonder how many they catch?

A clever rabbit trap although I can’t figure out how it works!

Another trick it to put pictures of colored eggs in your yard!  The rabbits apparently are mesmerized by the traps and go into a deep trance therefore allowing the happy homeowner to catch them… Perhaps for rabbit stew?

The visual trap… The rabbits will soon show up!

We are really happy that the rabbit population is being reduced because they can create havoc in a nice neighborhood.

Never ask for a bunny to paint a house eggshell!

OK, Paul apologizes ahead of time for these:

Q: What’s the difference between a healthy rabbit and an odd rabbit?
A: One is a fit bunny, and the other’s a bit funny!

Q: What did the naughty rabbit leave for Easter?
A: Deviled eggs!

Q: What did the rabbit give his girlfriend?
A: A 14 carrot ring!

Q: What did the rabbits do after their wedding?
A: They went on their “bunnymoon”!

One may ask, where do people get the ideas for colors on the Easter eggs?  One view at this garden provides some of the answer!

The spring colors are amazing!

The trees are bursting with Spring energy!  This one in particular is quite fantastic (Click to see a larger image)

You can almost hear the tree singing a song like “I am pretty… I am pretty”

While on the walk today, Zachary (our Grandson) saved an Easter tradition for us. For a quarter of a century, we have done Easter eggs at our house but this year we decided to back off and not ask people in case they wanted to do something else!

While talking with Zack, he asked “When are we doing eggs?” After getting home, we texted Robin and Michele and they were both waiting for the invite… It seems everyone wants to do the eggs again this year… That was kinda special for us! TRADITIONS ARE WONDERFUL!

Returning home about 10:30 AM it is time for brunch!  Today we are continuing to devour the soups we just made.  Piping hot soup is just right to warm up the tummy.  We spent the afternoon watching TV with small breaks for little chores.

Tonight was supposed to be Garden Grove night but they said they had a full house so we decided to stay home!  It’s a tough life when you must stay home and watch a TV movie with the love of your life!  We crashed about 11:00 PM because tomorrow is something special!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
