There is a “Smoker” going on at Old Ranch so we decided to go to Disneyland! Smart move! We went about 1:30 PM and stopped at Catal (in Downtown Disney) for a cold drink before going to California Adventure.
Paul tried the Stuffed Piquillo Peppers which contain Goat Cheese, Pine Nut, Currant, and Herb Chimichurri just so he could last until dinner!
Did You Know? The piquillo pepper is a variety of chili, Capsicum annuum, having a sweet taste with no heat, fruits about 7 cm long, well suited for growing in pots, that is traditionally grown in Northern Spain near the town of Lodosa. Its name is derived from the Spanish for “little beak”.
We read in the newspaper that Carsland was going to be decorated for Halloween so we had to see it. The park folks told us it is done a little at a time each evening and it just got started!
Shocking what Disney can do to a few cones, two tires, and two mufflers! Notice the lug wrenches which look like stars on either side! A lug wrench is the name for a type of socket wrench used to loosen and tighten lug nuts on automobile wheels. In the United Kingdom and Australia it is commonly known as a wheel brace.
Staying in the Tipi Hotel would be a little colorful these days!
Did You Know” A tipi is a cone-shaped tent, traditionally made of animal skins upon wooden poles. A tipi is distinguished from other conical tents by the smoke flaps at the top of the structure. Historically, the tipi was used by Indigenous people of the Plains in the Great Plains and Canadian Prairies of North America, as well as by indigenous peoples of northern Europe and Asia under other names. Tipi lodges are still in use by these peoples, though now primarily for ceremonial purposes.
After Carsland we walked over and did the Ferris wheel which was great as the afternoon breeze was in full swing and it was cool! Flying Over The World has a 55 minute wait so we decided to head to Catal!
We met up with Brian, Jan and Robin which made for a great evening of laughing and giggling and exchanges of information!
Brian had the Big Burger which is Premium Chuck/Brisket/Short Rib Blend, Caramelized Onion, Grafton Village White Cheddar Cheese, Butter Lettuce, Tomato, Garlic Mayo, served with Steak Fries
We got home around 8:30 PM and watched some TV before crashing!
