Another Zoom Zoom Day

We got up a little early and did some chores before heading to Culver City’s McManus Park for Theo’s 5th birthday!  Paul used to “play” in this park almost 60 years ago when there was only a small wooden library building and grass.  Today it is quite fancy! Join the fun!

The little man is now FIVE years old

Theo with friends and pizza... Life doesn't get any better

At 12:15 we headed south and glad we did as the traffic was terrible.  48 miles later and 12 minutes until the show started we landed at the Orange County Performing Arts Center to see the musical Shrek.  The traffic was bumper-to=bumper for almost ten miles thanks to an accident on the 405.  The show was terrific!

A very well put together production with great songs and wonderful cast

We snuk a picture with the iPhone camera

Immediately after the show we went to Seasons 52, one of our favorite places to dine.  The food is fantastic, the service amazing, and plenty of selection for the vegetarians!  Paul had the clam and shrimp Cioppino (fish soup) and swordfish…. Join us at Season’s 52

Great wine selections

She caught me with the iPhone texting the Zaitz

Did You Know? Cioppino is a fish stew originating in San Francisco. Despite being considered an Italian dish, it is unknown in Italy, and it is only slightly comparable with various regional fish soups and stews of Italian cuisine. Cioppino is traditionally made from the catch of the day, which in the dish’s place of origin is typically a combination of dungeness crab, clams, shrimp, scallops, squid, mussels and fish. The seafood is then combined with fresh tomatoes in a wine sauce, and served with toasted bread, either sourdough or baguette. The dish is comparable to cacciucco and brodetto from Italy, as well as other European fish dishes, such as bouillabaisse, burrida, and bourride of the French Provence, suquet de peix from Catalan speaking regions of coastal Spain.

We then headed for home into the sunset so we could feed and visit the babies before heading back to Garden Grove for a dance with Jerry Benton.

Goodbye sun, see you tomorrow if all goes well

We danced until 10:30 and finally decided it was homeward bound.  Bob tried to catch us on camera but alas, we were still moving too fast!

We just move too fact for the camera

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
