Oh My!

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

5:00 am, and Alexa goes off, reminding us that we have an appointment at the heart doctor for some tests!  We dragged ourselves out of bed, got ready, and exited the house at 6:45 am for St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Orange.

We arrived just in time, as the receptionist knew who we were. We were whisked into the machine room for a series of tests!

After the tests, we had 45 minutes to spare, so we went to the first floor and ate at Subway – an excellent choice.

At 9:15 am, we headed back upstairs for the news, and it was not great.  Without a lot of detail, the old ticker is functioning at about 40% of what it should be, plus the carotid artery on the right side is beginning to show signs of being plugged.  We have additional meds and two appointments in the near future to retest the ticker.  We are also going to see a vascular surgeon.  Message: Do not get old!!

We then headed to Newport Beach to visit Dr. Bill, who took care of my ingrown toenail, which had been bothering me for a month! Finally, relief, but then it was 2:00 p.m., and we thought we would stop by Anthony’s new restaurant, Verde. We had a couple of appetizers, and I even splurged and went for 6 oz of wine!

Anthony was the bartender at The Farmhouse and then opened his place!

Partners Anthony Laborin and Koire Rogers are proud to present a unique culinary experience in East Side Costa Mesa.

We will have to go for dinner as it sounds great!

Being old, I did have to ask:

Hey, it’s a benefit to be old, also!

On the way home, we got a text from Colleen, who was with our four great-grandkids, who were visiting her!

We love the “Greats”

We decided to stop by Renada’s and bring Jeff and Scout a spaghetti and meatball dinner. We sat and had a small salad while they were whipping up the pasta. We dropped off the meal to Jeff, and I went inside to make the delivery. Mary was getting a tickling in her throat and did not want to subject Jeff to anything that could be bad.

Back home we jumped into our jammies, got a bankie, and went to the TV room to watch The Blacklist.  It was a good day!
