Today, we celebrated Lisa and Patrick’s baby shower at Diane’s house. Lisa accidentally let the cat out of the bag on Friday during dinner. Bennett will join us in September, and we are excited about it. Both Mama and the baby are healthy!
Lisa asked me, “Does the stork deliver babies with their diapers on?” I had to answer, “No, they’re stork naked!”
The family gathers, and the fun begins! The lunch was just right for a hot day!
There are two tables available and ample time to socialize. We will be seeing them again, probably in September, when we have to drive to San Franciso to get our Global Entry interviews.
We get stories about the first two trimesters; I mentioned that the last four trimesters were easier and got a strange look!
We departed Diane’s at about 3:00 PM and took a two-hour nap to prepare for tomorrow’s long drive home.
We got up at 6:00 PM and went to La Fondue. The manager, Chloe, greeted us warmly and escorted us to our table. She even gave us a complimentary glass of champagne!
The Silver Fox was grateful that we decided to walk since the restaurant was only two blocks away.
“Bring on the food!” Mary was ready for “The Wild Thing,” and it wasn’t me this time.
I took some photos at the fabulous restaurant with my date. We had a blast together and finished a bottle of wine in two hours. We planned to walk home, otherwise, we would have only had one glass of wine and an iced tea.
Buried in here was Alligator, Buffalo, Wild Duck, Ostrich, Wild Boar, and Venison; it could not be passed up! Mary looked a little worried but she jumped right in and tried everything!
The wine helped wash down the “gamey” taste. We think they added some roadkill just for us! The meat was not gamey at all and pretty much tasted like chicken!
Dang, the camera works.
The grillmaster is at work!
Josh was our waiter, and he added some fire to our chocolate fondue!
After dinner, we walked two blocks to “The Bank,” a local bar that used to be a bank in the 1900s. The clientele were friendly and quiet. We delivered a message from Cloe to the bartender, who laughed and sent a message back.
Four blocks back to the hotel, and we were out like a light! We are ready for tomorrow’s drive back to “civilization.”
