We Done Opted Out!

Fact:  Jingle Bells’ was the first song played in space!

I was up at 5:30 AM, and it was raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock; we are talking buckets of well-needed water!  Scout looked outside, looked up and me, shrugged his shoulders, and headed out to the green pastures.  That was the quickest wee-wee he ever did.  He returned smelling like a “wet dog,” and of course, he wanted to snuggle with us.

About an hour later, I checked our rain gauge, and it indicated we received 1.3″ of H2O; please, keep it coming!

I called CVS and talked to the pharmacist.  She asked me my birth date again today, and I’m pretty sure she’s going to get me something.

I fixed breakfast for my baby, and we watched a little TV; it is good for her to sit up a bit every day!

In the afternoon, we decided to call off our visit to “Night Of 1,000 Lights”.  The restaurant is small and always crowded, and we did not want someone by accident to run into Mary’s arm plus, if it rained, we did not want to walk down stairs and uneven ground with her “unstable condition.”  Try walking with one arm tied down; it is not easy!  Robin and Bob added Nick, and Donna went with them.  At the last minute, Bob decided to stay close to home as he was fighting pneumonia.

Nick has a girlfriend (we will not tell Bob!)

The kids said dinner was excellent!

They went to the Sherman Gardens for their 6:00 PM appointment and had a great time; me thinks there is some severe ham in that family!

Mary and I had “breakfast for dinner” as I whipped up turkey bacon and scrambled eggs with 21-grain toast.  I threw in some apple pie for good measure.    We are doing good; we have not had a glass of wine since Tuesday evening!

Colleen sent a picture of her and her three grandchildren (our great-grandchildren!)

Too Cute!

We crashed around 10:30 PM with Mary feeling a bit better and not requiring the serious pain reliever!

So take a look at this picture of a Christmas tree:

A magnificent specimen!

But, upon careful examination, if one turns it 90 degrees, we see something else!

Quite amazing!!

As I dozed off to sleep, I kept asking myself, “Why is the letter W, in English, called double U?  Shouldn’t it be called double V?”  Let me know if you have an answer!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
