Friday And We Are Off For An Adventure

Fact: Raindrops are not actually shaped like teardrops. In fact, the most common raindrop is shaped more like a hamburger bun, according to the United States Geological Survey. Small raindrops (radius less than 1 millimeter) are spherical; larger ones assume a shape more like that of a hamburger bun. “When they get larger than a radius of about 4.5 millimeters, they rapidly become distorted into a shape rather like a parachute with a tube of water around the base – and then they break up into smaller drops.”

We arose at 6:00 AM, and it was 84 degrees outside; our air conditioner was already running.  Kay, which is not expected to directly hit the mainland U.S., will break the heat wave that has sweltered the region. It may also help to douse ongoing wildfires, but the storm is predicted to bring wind and flooding to much of the region.  According to the NWS, the storm system will bring 2 to 4 inches of rain to Southern California.

We departed for Altadena at 1:00 PM and arrived at the hotel about 50 minutes later. We had a drink at the hotel and them got ready to go to the dance.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
