Sunday And We Be Pooped!

Perseverance is the hard work you do after getting tired of doing the hard work you already did.

Our eyes did not open until after 8:00 AM since we were up past midnight.  We walked through the house and back yard and were amazed at what a great job Armstrong Productions did; the place was spotless.  We even had a cup of coffee on the patio with Colleen and admired our decision to have it catered!  Yeah us!

Spotless!

We moved in slow motion most of the day!  It was well worth it!

So true!

Since last Wednesday, the sprinkler systems have been off as we did not want a wet dance floor, so we hand-watered everything this morning.

Making sure we have plenty of water for the tiny flowers as it will be in the 90s again today.

We told folks NOT to bring gifts as we were already running out of room. They came bearing gifts anyway! Combining two households after living in our homes for three decades was a difficult task.

Gift list was complex!

Mary gets such a great look on her face when she is happy.  The gifts were eclectic and caused a lot of smiles!

“What could this be from Len!”

We examined every card, and several were hand-made by our artist friends; fantastic work and a joy to behold!

Mary checks the gift list.

Colleen gets down to work disassembling the centerpieces and removing the batteries until we use them next time.  We had fifty-plus batteries to put away!

Robin stayed over last night to help, and she stayed until 1:00 PM laughing and giggling with the girls.

Always a smile!

The three of us, Collen, Mary, and I, went to Charlie’s soccer game.  Son Joe is the coach (Charlie is right behind him).

Soccer in La Habra in 99-degree weather.

We got into the frig and found a load of delicious left-overs from last night, including the filet-mignon pieces and several sliders, plus we did more damage to the Chinese food from Friday!  We hit the sack early! We were done for by the time we got home.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
