Mary is always stealing my t-shirts and sweaters… But if I take one of her dresses, suddenly, “we need to talk.”
It was eleven months today since I asked Mary out for dinner, mid-pandemic! It’s been a whirlwind ever since! So I have been telling people Mary, and I have known each other for seventeen years! Well, it was probably longer than that, but Mary found an old roster from Starlighters dated 2004, and sure enough, Mary and I were right there on the list! We think we knew each other even earlier than that, but we lost the paper trail!
It was Monday, and Mary had a half-day, so she went to work (to afford to keep me in the lifestyle to which I have become accustomed), and I went to Casa Valencia with Scout the Wonder Dog. We made a short detour by the glass company to pick some an order we had made.
Returning to Casa Valencia, I piddled around the house, getting ready for the 6th, Mary’s first move into the new house. Because of my cold, I decided to take it easy.
Around noon, Mary called from the car and said she would fix lunch at home because she attempted to clean out the freezer and refrigerator. I told her, “The person who invented knock-knock jokes should get a no bell prize,” and she almost changed her mind and went back to work! What it something I said?
We called Connor to come and help as he has offered many times. He headed to the attic and brought down about half of the holiday decorations; then, it got too hot.
We decided to go to Rockwells for dinner with Connor.
Connor saw the meatball sandwich, and that instantly made up his mind! I told Connor, “I have an inferiority complex, but it’s not a very good one.” I then apologized, and we went on with dinner.
After dinner, we went to our house, got a case of wine, and headed to Jan’s to visit for a while. We were supposed to have been working, but we needed a break! On our way home, the rabbits were out in force. They were all over. We lit him up, and he stopped dead in his tracks.
By the time we got home, I had horizontal as I caught up on the several days of no sleep due to the head cold. Tonight I feel like I am going to live.
