Did you hear about the dyslexic Satanist? He sold his soul to Santa.
Sunday, we moved slowly, not making it to Casa Valencia until about 10:00 AM. We got into high gear with Mary doing the kitchen and me doing the office; I was looking for my income tax paperwork to send in my quarterly estimated taxes. Finally, after tearing everything apart, I remembered the paperwork was in Mary’s office up the hill!
We worked hard, and it paid off! The house almost looks presentable!
Robin and Bob came over and helped in the afternoon. Having kids is great, especially wonderful kids and Robin and Joe (Colleen would be here in a heartbeat if she didn’t like in another country – New Hampshire).
Mary has successfully washed EVERYTINGin the kitchen and has made friends with the Bosch dishwasher. She even washed the silk flowers, and they look new though some are probably thirty years old! I was afraid to come up behind her for I might be thrown in the sink and scribbled; well, now that I think about that, I may change my approach!
Rob installed Nest sensors along the hallway and did some heavy lifting for Mary. Robin attacked the boxes in the dining room and got it to the point we could see the opposite wall. I worked in the office and Master Bedroom.
At 6:00 PM, we decided we were done, and we all went to Rockwell’s for dinner.
Returning to Casa Valencia, we locked up everything, collected The Wonder Dog, Scout, and headed up the hill to Mary’s place. We didn’t even stop in the den, directly upstairs, and crashed. I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Mary said she read for about an hour, but I was long gone.
However, I do remember asking Mary a question, “How do you know when it is time for cows to go to sleep?” I think I mumbled the answer, ” When it’s pasture bedtime.” I apologize, z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z!!
