I was going to quit all my bad habits for the new year, but then I remembered that nobody likes a quitter.
Nothing to do and no plans, a great way to start retirement. We worked around the house, straightening things up after the busy days of Christmas. Mary packed up some goodies for her kids, and I ran home to cover up things as the forecast calls for a lot of rain.
I returned about 5:30 PM and helped Mary out for a while before we went to the Rib Trader to have a drink and dine on healthy food. Yes, we had fried zucchini, boneless chicken wings, and onion rings.
After getting home, Mary made some cookies and found a new way to decorate them!
Spending time with Miss Mary is plain fun, and I am at her home enough to know what to assist her with when she asks. It’s comforting.
We did NOT talk to any kids today as I decided to give them the day off. We watched some TV and talked about our New Year’s resolutions. I may have misunderstood what she was saying.
We did talk about being retired, and I reminded her of what work was like. Boeing and the VA were all managed by mismanagers; it was pretty pathetic. It wasn’t that was 30-40 years ago, but everything has to change; I wish it were for the better!
Mary was ready to crash, and I headed back to Rossmoor. About midnight, Mary called as it was thundering and lightning. She wanted to make sure I was not afraid and hiding under the bed. I fooled her; I was locked in the guest bathroom! It was doing the same in Rossmoor. Tomorrow we are doing chores, and I am going to the doctor to figure out what’s up with the knee.
The punchline for today was, we did nothing! You know what? Nothing is OK to do!
