The Week Is Gone But Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

What can I say??

Colleen is on her way to pick up her husband from San Diego, and we are lounging around the house as it is 57 outside and drizzling!  Good day to stay inside!  We have no plans but to await the arrival of Colleen and Mark!  We want to take Mark to our favorite Indian food establishment!  Mark says he does hot!  We will find out!

We got some bad news; Colleen placed a health/welfare check on Uncle Chuck Lewis in Alabama.  A week ago, my cousin came and found the house in total disrepair, no water or lights, etc.  They went to the courthouse and got custody of Aunt Helen and took her to Arizona to live out her days.  Chuck, being a pain in the rear, refused, so he was moved to a state-operated elder care facility. My cousin, their son, is going to Alabama and will get custody of Chuck and get him to Arizona so he can live out his days with his wife together.

It’s difficult for children but hats off to Paula and Ron!

We stayed around the house most of the day but decided to go to Old Ranch for a drink around 5:00 PM.

We are awaiting the kids to call!

They arrived at about 5:30 PM at the hotel (which is in the parking lot of the Boeing facility), so we dropped by and picked them up!  Time for some jaw-dropping Indian cuisine!  I was pleasantly surprised that Mark downed the Chili Chicken Tikka without any signs of pain!

After the meal, we all headed for our home to watched a Christmas movie. I was smart; I left the over at 425 degrees and out a frozen Marie Calendar pie on the kitchen counter.  We cut up a third for us and sent Colleen next door to Vicky with the rest!

We watched “Holly’s Holiday.” Summary: NYC ad exec Holly Maddux dreams of the perfect life, the ideal job, and of course, the perfect man to sweep her off her feet. When she wakes up one day to find the “perfect man” awaiting her, who is nothing more than a mannequin come to life, she must decide if “perfect” is the perfect fit for her.

Cute story!  Mark survived it by eating pie!

The kids departed, and we watched another Christmas movie before crashing.  The second one was “Engaging Father Christmas.”  Summary: Miranda is flying back to Vermont from her home in Seattle to reconnect with her family over the holidays — and to see Ian, a local handyman she fell in love with on her last trip to the Green Mountain State. But when changing planes in Boston, Miranda runs into old boyfriend Josh, who chases her to Vermont, where Miranda learns of an ancient family secret that could destroy her family. Can Miranda keep her family — and her love for Ian — together and intact, or will she forever lose her chance at a beautiful winter wedding?

We crashed after this movie…Tomorrow is a long day!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
