Happy Thanksgiving To All And To All A Good Night!

Do you think I’m done? Honey, you ain’t seen stuffing yet.

…and it is Thanksgiving to boot!

It is indeed Thanksgiving, and as I was sitting in the office this morning, I thought a lot about what I give thanks for, and it was quite a list.  Our beautiful family comes right at the top of the list, coupled with living in a country where we are still free, makes life worth the daily fight!

From our family to yours – Have a beautiful day!

The “weather-guesser” was right; it is raining.  I got a Vicky-Gram (text message) at 6:45 AM with instructions to go to the back fence and pick up two aluminum packages.  Naturally, I followed the directions, and now we are the proud owner to two loaves of banana nut bread!  Not to be outdone, I texted back for her to be ready to receive 3/4 of a cherry pie, I am keeping one quarter for myself!  Hot cherry pie on a cold rainy morning, damn, I have died and gone to heaven!

Thank you, Vicky, for so many things!!

Oops, another text from Vicky:

I got my tamales two days ago and put them in the freezer in packs of three. I’m going to put one of the packages on the fence in two minutes so you can put them in the freezer and take them out one at a time or whatever you want.

I emailed to Amy (the Social Director of the northern Liles’ Clan), and, with her return email,  we are going to have dinner with them tomorrow after the show.  Amy and Joe (and the boys) feel comfortable around our friends, which is fantastic!

Speaking of Vicky (our dear friend and next-door neighbor), did I ever mention she is SNEAKY!  When Joe and I first started getting together again, she somehow got his phone number and called he and Amy and invited them to see the Alley Cats in La Habra at the Curtis Theater, without us knowing.

So, we are sitting there, and there were two seats open beside us.  We figured Vicky had other family members coming.  All of a sudden, this big guy and slim, lovely lady say “Pardon us,” and I did not recognize them.  They sat in the two open seats, and when I looked over, it was Amy and Joe.  You could have knocked my socks off, I done be flabbergasted!  Vicky was doing her little angel thing, getting us together again!

Our Son Joe!!!

We are just going to relax this morning and await the 1:30 PM departure time.  We are going to be seeing the Duda’s, Chartier’s, Craig & Marianne, Irene, and Greg plus Greg’s father, Mitch, Connor, and his lady, Will (Iris is in New York), and the Walters.

We are ready so off we go!  To Old Ranch for a 2:00 PM start.  Welcome to the party!

Thanksgiving 2019 with friends and family

After ORCC, we headed to Amy and Joe’s house to visit and have dessert.  Join us!

Thanksgiving 2019 at Joe and Amy’s

Returning home we watched a Christmas Movie and then crashed!  Noelle is Santa’s daughter and she finds herself having to take over the family business.

We then watched Boston Legal for a few laughs before crashing!  Long but wonderful day!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
