Sunshine – Warm – New Week – Yeah!

“Monday?! But, I wasn’t even finished with Saturday yet.”

Time to shop…Ralph’s here I come! While I had only three things on the shopping list I came home with two bags! I cannot passover good looking asparagus! The greeting card aisle got a good going over also…three birthdays, two hellos, one Passover, and one get well!

After returning home, I hit the office and did some cleanup on the iMacs and other computer devices. I want them all to look alike in terms of the drive mapping. Progress is being made but it is slow as we have 2 iMacs, MacBookPro, IPad Pro, iPad Mini, two iPhones, and a large PC system.

We called Aunt Kaye and she was going super today…back to her normal self! Ninety-six years old and going strong!

Quite an amazing person…Our kids are writing her and some are calling just to keep her busy!

Things I Will Remember:  Neither Uncle Chuck (94) or Aunt Kaye (96) can hear anymore and dialing the phone is an ordeal so once a week I manage a three-way call between us and Kaye and Chuck.  We sit on the sidelines just listening in and sometimes guiding the conversations to put them back on track.  It was Sue’s idea as she knew there was no way they could talk otherwise.  My  bride always has a good idea and is always caring about other members of the family.

We also called Diane to notify her of the pending brain surgery procedure on Wednesday. I was pleased to find out our oldest daughter, Robin, and Irene was going to be with me during the procedure. Joe and Michele also offered to come and stay with me but I waived them off with a big hug! Colleen has called several times to make sure Sue was doing OK prior to the operation. It’a just a nice warm feeling when your family is so close and caring when these types of events occur!

After lunch we did some watering of the garden…takes about an hour in the back yard alone. At 4:00 PM we began cleaning up as we are planning to meet Robin at 5:00 PM for drinks and dinner…Irene will of course be there to supervise!

have arrived!
We have arrived…the problems of the world will be fixed!

While the ol’ camera was out, I got a shot of our oldest daughter…she is really special to us! Robin is quite the lady and has a wonderful family!

Robin decided to join us for dinner with Bob and Nick!

We had such a large group tonight we took two tables. I splurged and did a corned beef and sauerkraut sandwich…the bathroom scale will NOT be happy in the morning! The boys woofed down a mess of food…went so fast I don’t remember what it was!

Cameras at the ready…the Sun is dropping into the sea!

As we were dining I got a picture of Zack and Becca’s varmints…hard to believe our great grand daughter is five years old! Remy seems to be enjoying the spotlight!

Can you believe it? GREAT grand kids?

Remy’s haircut is just like his great grandpa’s! We are looking forward to teaching them how to color Easter eggs in a couple of weeks…we have some new techniques including the use of Cool Whip!

I drug out a seven year old picture of us in Catalina down by “The Isthmus”

Two Harbors, colloquially known as “The Isthmus”, is a small unincorporated community island village on Santa Catalina Island, California, with a population of 298. It is the second center of population on the island, besides the city of Avalon. It is mainly a resort village.

Away we go…back home and…the puzzle. We are moving fast on it but it is coming together much different than the others…it’s kinda center outwards! Each puzzle seems to be a little different!

We arranged to have dinner tomorrow with our son Joe and his family as Joe is celebrating his 47th birthday…we are feeling old! Thirty year old grandkids, five year old great grandkids, fifty-five year old daughter getting ready to retire…OMG, how did this happen?? We is time going?

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
