Across The Bounding Main!

We are off to see the whizzard, the wonderful whizzard of Catalina.  Yes, it is “that time of the year” when we collect our friends, head for Catalina Express in Long Beach, and set our compass westward to the closest island to home…Santa Catalina!

The details are on our Avalon Ball Website.

We made is… 60 minute crossing…arriving 12:45

We checked in top our hotel, did a “Von’s Run” and then spent the afternoon on the patio visiting and “drinking”.  We all went in different directions on Friday night… We went to The Avalon Grill.

With dinner, we got free tickets to the local movie house where we say “Deadpool 2”.  Summary: Foul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (AKA. Deadpool), brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy of supernatural abilities from the brutal, time-traveling mutant, Cable.

It was indeed foul-mouthed and not even funny…a few chuckles but noty something we would ever see again!  Hollywood, you ought to be ashamed!

After dinner we went to the most stupid movie of the year!

Paul was going to take the taxi home directly but as we exited the building Sam, Brenda, and Gayle were begging their walk.  We picked them up and Paul had a great idea…let’s go to the top of the hill!  Driver, Paul commanded with his most masculine voice, “Please take us to Mount Ada so we can see the city at night”!  To which, the driver responded “Yes Maam!  PAul was crushed!

Taxi..take us to Mount Ada

You have the idea but trying to hold the iPhone still and set the shot was difficult.

We returned to the hotel and crashed…well, Sue read a bit and Paul watched the Science Channel on the TV.  Tomorrow is a big day!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
