Better Than Expected

We went to  the hospital about 10:00 Am and Tom was in the Intensive Care Unit and was undergoing a test t see if he could begin breathing on his own.  The nurse said he was doing “better” in that his body would attempt to breath and the tubes would push a little more air into the lungs so assure they got “filled”.  We did not have a prognosis yet (as the heart doctor has not called Gayla as of this date).

Tom recognized us even though he could not talk he did squeeze our hands and look at us.

After visiting for a while, we returned to Aunt Kaye’s home and picked her up to go to lunch at Strings in Lodi!  Great lunch and we missed Tom and the four of us have been going there for years and years.

We headed home but stopped at Delano to visit the Delano Elks Lodge. We had so much fun and they were so nice, we wrote the ER a note:

Note to the ER

We sat and chatted with the locals for over an hour!

After departing the Elks and right after Bakersfield, the sky became almost magical.

An amazing sunset as we whizzed down the highway at 70 MPH

We finally made it home about 10:00 Pm and were dead tired… Driving takes a lot out of you!

Our security systems worked fine… We were even notified of the neighborhood kitty cat who frequents our yard!

Always alerted of events around the house

We had a small glass of wine, watched some TV and crashed!

About Paul
