Paul fixed the shower door rollers this morning and it was actually not to bad a job. Now the doors slide smoothly. we got cleaned up and headed for Laura’s baby shower at Rebecca’s house.
We though it was a “Jack and Jill” shower but alas, it was all ladies. Paul felt a tad odd so we departed a bit early and headed to Oceanside. We had a great idea… Call the kids, Pete and Lisa, and ask them to meet us at the Hunter Steakhouse around 3:00 PM. We met them and spend almost three hours just visiting. They had lunch and we did a snack (as we are going to have dinner there at 6:00 PM).
We had dinner with Chuck and Lisa and some of their friends before going to the theater.
We departed the steakhouse about 7:30 PM and headed up Highway 78 to Vista and joined the Moonlight Amphitheatre just eight miles up the road. we saw “Sunset Boulevard” and it was terrific. We had row 5 near the enter and it was a great location!
Did You Know? Sunset Boulevard is a musical with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton (with additional lyrics by Amy Powers) and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Based on Billy Wilder’s Academy Award-winning 1950 film of the same title, the plot revolves around Norma Desmond, a faded star of the silent screen era, living in the past in her decaying mansion on the fabled Los Angeles street. When young screenwriter Joe Gillis accidentally crosses her path, she sees in him an opportunity to make her comeback to the big screen. Romance and tragedy follow.
We departed for home at 11:00 PM and arrived back at 12:15 AM as there was zero traffic!
