Hard Work And Play… A Good Thing!

Paul started out the morning at 7:oo AM in the back yard filling two 100 gallon trashcans with garden trimmings.  He pulled the corn stalks that were finished for the season, cleared out the brown tomato leaves, and did some serious watering as it is supposed to be hot for the next few days.

Sue fixed lunch and we were off to play golf… It’s taken Paul almost ten years but now golf is enjoyable.  We do not keep score, most of the balls go down the center of the fairway, and we are presented with the great out of doors plus we get to see the wild life!  This is good!

The weather was perfect today… 74 degrees and a slight breeze… Hardley a cloud in the sky!

That ball will never know what hit it!

Old Ranch has some interesting plants…  These pods seem to be oversized for the plant but we shall see when they finally bloom.

Interesting wild life

The ball is winging its way to the hole on #16, a three par!  Sue does not hit it far but she is right down the center every time.  When she asked Paul “Where did my ball go”, Paul laughs and says “Right down the center dear!”

Smash!  It’s gone!

Lilly spotted Grandma Sue and paddled as fast as she could to get her afternoon surprise!  We only feed her premium swan food we get from the local feed store… Vitamin fortified!

Here comes Lilly the Swan

Did You Know:

The swan mates for life

The collective name for a group is a bevy, or lamentation

She was happy to see Sue.  We did happy hour on the patio.  Bunnaford was still on the patio so we had a glass of wine with her.  Tom was going to pick her up at 5:00 PM so Paul walked her out of the club to the parking lot.

Paul decided to have a veggie burger and Sue got some Old Ranch chips!

We were going to leave and then Dave O and Teri show up so we stayed a little longer.  At 7:00 PM we headed for home so Sue could do the treadmill.  We had a great evening crashing about 11:30 PM.

We had not heard anything about Ernie so Paul checked the iPhone messages before turning out the lights.  Nothing about Ernie but we did get a text from our daughter Robin  asking about Father’s Day and we told her we had no plans so she invited us to go to Disneyland.  Made Paul feel pretty good that someone wanted to celebrate the day.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
