Sunday A Go Go….

We went to church and Lisa and Pete joined us.  We then went to the Main Street Wine Cellar and had a quick lunch.  It is one of our favorite watering holes.

Time for a snack before the theater....

We left Seal Beach making a quick stop by home and then headed for South Coast Repertory Theater in Costa Mesa to see “Pride And Prejudice” .Pride and Prejudice is a novel by Jane Austen, first published in 1813. The story follows the main character Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman, living near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London.

Beautiful day at South Coast Rep

Though the story is set at the turn of the 19th century, it retains a fascination for modern readers, continuing near the top of lists of ‘most loved books’ such as The Big Read.[1] It has become one of the most popular novels in English literature, and receives considerable attention from literary scholars. Modern interest in the book has resulted in a number of dramatic adaptations and an abundance of novels and stories imitating Austen’s memorable characters or themes. To date, the book has sold some 20 million copies worldwide.

Clowning with Ed the super liberal bar tender

After the play, we went to UCI and dined at a local sports bar…. Hannah’s choice.  We had a nice dinner than then headed for home only to wath=ch two movies on TV.

Caprice” was an oldie but goodie. In this comedy-thriller, first shown in 1967,  Patricia Foster is an industrial designer who gets herself into a whole heap of trouble when she sells a secret cosmetics formula to a rival company in Paris.

We then needed some seriousness so we selected “Loves Everlasting Courage“, a Hallmark special. Summary: Clark Davis (Wes Brown) struggles to maintain his land and support his family during a long drought. With a bank loan to repay, his wife, Ellen (Julie Mond), takes a job in town as a seamstress, but soon becomes ill with scarlet fever. Devastated to lose his beloved wife, Clark and his young daughter Missie (Morgan Lily) turn to his parents Irene (Cheryl Ladd) and Lloyd (Bruce Boxleitner) for support. Clark must find a way to save his farm and survive Ellen’s death without losing the person he loves most: his daughter.

Another great Hallmark production....

About Paul

Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
