I am sure he would have won by a lot more if his personality had been less boisterous, but overall, he had clear messages and actual policies, while the opposition has nothing except more of the same, as we have had for four years.
It is Wednesday, which means it is time to try to force my body to do things that can only be accomplished by an animal that could only be described as a cross between a Silverback Gorilla and a Giant Kraken*!
* The Kraken originated in Scandinavian folklore and is usually depicted as an aggressive cephalopod-like creature capable of destroying entire ships and dragging sailors to their doom.
When we returned home, the garage did not open automatically (it is wired to the internet, so the Phone tells it we are driving up and opens the garage). I got out and punched the buttons manually, but still, the door did not open.
Uh, Oh, the power is off! Edison turned off the power because their transmission lines ran through a forested area, and they feared electrical fires.
Upon entering the house via the front door, we explained to Scout why we looked like something the cat would have drug in! We alsoexplained to him that we indeed did pay the electric bill!
We had plenty of time, so we decided to go to the club and have a glass of wine before going to the Cerritos Mall and the Apple Store.
Mary wanted to buy me a new laptop since mine was built in 2016. Because it was so old, many apps did not work well on it. She planned to go to the Apple store. At the same time, Vicky was complaining about her iPhone 12, which had a 10-meg camera. We got together and went to the Apple store.
Vicky got herself a new iPhone with a 48-megapixel camera, and Mary got me a new laptop with all the bells and whistles. Vicky can now take beautiful pictures, and all my Adobe products work well with the latest machine!
Vicky and I were like two kids in a candy store.
We returned to Old Ranch from the Apple Store to have dinner with Vicky, Jim, and Irene. We made a picture book of Irene’s 90th birthday party because she often mentioned she would like to share the event with her friends where she lives. The handheld book would be perfect!
You can view a PDF version of the book right here and see the party unfold!
As usual, the five of us chatter away, spilling stories from our past like we’re trying to solve a mystery with more laughs than clues. Who knew that trying to cook spaghetti could end with a fire alarm and a pet goldfish named “Fettuccine” looking for cover? Everyone’s in stitches, except maybe Fettuccine—he’s still in therapy for that traumatic experience!
Jim and I listen to the stories being exchanged; with these three around, who needs TV or radio?
Vicky and Mary have joined at the hip, which is good since they are both very special to me!
We headed home for a long winter’s nap! All the power was off so we had no lights, no TV, and no internet (exceptfor our iPhones).
