The Wrecking Crew Was Called To Duty!

Remember!!!

I got kicked out of my local park today …. I was arranging squirrels in their perspective Heights….. I guess they don’t like me critter-sizing them.

Vicky, my dear neighbor of thirty years, is now back to having her house to herself and needed to have some work done including tearing down a wall to regain her dining room.  US guys jumped at the opportunity to assist her!

Ed and Bob are busy planning the attack!  It kinda reminded me of Laurel and Hardy!

We all admired Ed with his professional tool belt; if I wore that heavy my pants would fall down!

They also double as the cleanup crew!

Mary supervised the junk removal activities making sure everything went into the dumpster in proper order.

Jim was making sure I did not go too far with the Sawsall and start after a load-bearing wall!

The Sawsall really works wonders. It cuts through wood like it was butter!

We returned home after an hour of hard work and relaxed for the rest of the day!  Vicky was my neighbor for thirty years and an amazing wonderful lady!  We would do anything for her!

Message From Vicky: Oh, was funny having all these white guys working for a Mexican.

If anyone is missing a crowbar or one of those hand razor blade things they were left behind. I’ve got to tell you I am so giddy over the reality of having my dining room back. It’s only been 10 years in my best broken English, I am saying ‘ tank you’ very much amigos.

I have four different painters coming between tomorrow and next Tuesday to give me a price estimate to paint the five rooms and the hallway. I’m hoping one of them can also remove that door and put up some drywall and won’t cost me an arm and a leg. But I saved a lot by having my friends come in and ‘take down the wall’ just like Ronald Reagan told Gorbachev.

I really appreciate you and Mary coming over today to help me. Try to get my life back on track.

We got ready to go to the Elks for dinner dancing about 5:15 p.m. and departed about three hours!  Mary had a salad and soup while I tried shepherd’s pie and soup.   We shared one bottle of wine and Mary prescribed hot tea for my cough; it worked wonders!!

Mary is just an amazing person!

I find her puzzling once in a while!

Just kidding!

Bob and Donna joined us this evening along with Leon and Marsha Brander.  We danced until 8:15 p.m. and then departed for home.

Bob and Donna; are two wonderful friends!

Now I have to go line dancing; I”ve been avoiding it for a while but my time is up!

“I didn’t do it!”

We got home around 8:40 p.m. and took Scout outside to get him ready for bed.  He is smart as soon as he came in the door, he headed for the bedroom and plopped onto his bed!  Mary read for a while and I did the daily diary; it was lights out at 11:00 p.m.  Remember, we get an extra hour of sleep tomorrow as the time changes tonight.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
