Hither and Tither; We Keep Busy!!

Scout is quite clever!!

A miracle happened this morning – I stepped on the scale, which read 191 pounds!  I’m only one pound away from my goal weight.  The talking scale did say, “Who are you?”

Mary is still recovering from a cold, so we are taking it easy.  While walking in the garden, I noticed that one of my controllers had gone offline.  I reset the circuit breaker, and now everything is working correctly.

Life is lovely – enjoying a cup of coffee with my best friend on a peaceful park bench is all one could ask for.

Feet up, coffee close by, and watching the plants grow!

Scout-a-puss decided to come and visit us (and get his morning petting).  He likes to walk with us and check out the lizards!

Scout came out to help!

Mary harvested the dried peas, which we store in a jar.  When it is time to dine, we soak them overnight and cook for 40 minutes to make a delicious bean soup.  Waste not, want not!

Mary continues to pick the dry peas, which make great beans!

Time is flying by, and we are already approaching mid-September.  This means it’s time to start thinking about taxes, which can be daunting.  I might have to rob a bank to pay them this year!  On a lighter note, Halloween is only 60 days away, and I’ve already decided to dress up as a mummy.  I even practiced the look on the ship.

BOO!  It even scared me!

The time changes in a few weeks; I thought a lot about the time change!

AMEN!

Since I have some remaining bronchitis and will see the orthodontist, I thought I might need a mash but forgot to bring it home.  I saw a Norms Restaurant and stopped in to buy a bacon mask!

Did You Know?  Norms Restaurants (stylized as NORMS) is a chain of diner-style restaurants in Southern California.  Founded in 1949 by used-car salesman Norm Roybark, some restaurants are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  As of June 2023, the company operates 21 locations in Greater Los Angeles.

I got them on sale at local Norms!

One more trip to get the impressions next month.  I think I will do the impressions of the invisible man and not show up!

Mary made another appointment for me at the toothfixer.

We stopped by the Z’s to make sure all was going OK.  All was going OK!

We dropped by the Z’s to check things out!

We then went home, where Mary went to bed. I installed our new printer, and Scout checked his eyes for light leaks!  I plan to take the old printer to Staples and see if they can fix it, as it is a cartridge holder problem, and everything else seems fine.  We can put it in the garage as a backup printer.

Both of our computers are now tied to the new printer so we cam share plus it is on the WiFi so our laptops and iPhones can print to the new one also!

One color page every three seconds!

After a while, we decided to watch TV in the TV room and try out the new Bose Sound Bar Zachary got us.  As we passed the Family Room window, we noticed it had rained!

It rained slightly, enough to make everything wet!

I went outside to ensure everything was covered and we were ready should it rain harder.  Everything was already covered, so I scampered back inside!

The sky looked threatening!

We reached season seven of “Suits” and were thrilled when Donna was promoted to COO.  Robin also held the position for 20 years.

At 9:30 pm, we declared victory and went to bed, turning on the whole-house fan and dropping the temperature inside to the same as outside!  BP 122/65 at bedtime; life is good!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
