Hot Hot Hot!! 100 Degrees Plus!

We woke up early this morning and headed to the garden to start our day.  We made a mental checklist of all the tasks needed to get the garden back in shape.  Unfortunately, my bronchitis wasn’t improving, so we had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Rucker at 9:15 a.m.

It’s so hot that hot water now comes out of both taps.

Martha has been drawing my blood for 20 years; I noticed she does with a black crayon today!

It’s so hot I saw two hydrants fight over a dog.

We made another appointment just in case!

Since the doctor’s office is in Los Alamitos, we decided to call our daughter Robin and have lunch with her and Kathy Smith, who works at Boeing.  We went to Seal Beach and had Mexican food; Shrimp Diablo for me!

It was a great way to spend the afternoon and take my mind off of coughing.  Besides, two margaritas are always good medicine!

It’s so hot that you can poach eggs in a pool.

Upon arriving home in the mid-afternoon, we switched on the air conditioning to keep cool.  It was a blazing 100 degrees outside, but fortunately, we had solar power.  Mary decided to take a quick nap, and while she dozed off, I returned to the yard to harvest the remaining corn.

Mary stayed asleep!

When she woke up and found me outside, we began raising hell!  I’ve never tried hell.

Before dinner, Mary sat at her computer and read our website about our trip to HawaiiShe assisted me in removing the typos and other errors; she is an excellent proofreader.  We have side-by-side desks in the office, making this task fun!

Traveling the world together!  (Click to see our vacation.)

We had a stir-fry for dinner with some fresh veggies added and chicken for protein.  We killed off a bottle of fine wine, Two Buck Chuck!

We talked to Robin and are doing a perogie and movie night on Saturday!   The four of us will have fun, and I will get to test out our new soundbar.

Did You Know?  A sound bar is essentially a tiny speaker system that sits below your TV screen and provides an immersive audio experience.  Unlike a traditional surround sound system, which features multiple speakers and wires, sound bars are a simple and space-efficient way to get next-level sound in your living room.

We stayed up until midnight watching “Suits” and are in the middle of season five.  It was so warm we did a midnight walk (if you catch my drift) as the pool was too warm to enjoy! Naked in the moonlight caused the coyotes to howl!

It’s so hot even the artificial flowers are dying.

It’s so hot I broke wind just to have a little breeze.
