How About A Little Country?

The way the world ought to be!

The airport express departed about 30 minutes late due to scheduling difficulties.  They got dropped off at a few minutes prior to 8:00 am so they will have time to check-in and get new tickets for the change in flights.  They spent the day winging their way back to North Carolina,  the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola.

On the way home, I stopped off and dropped off six tuxedo shirts for the trip to Hawaii.

When I got home, I went to the attic and refastened the whole-house fan to the louvers.  The fan has such force that the duct work blows off.  This time I applied several layers of real duct tape.

Once we arrived home, we completed some household tasks before Colleen departed to see her sick mother at the hospital.

We contacted Charlotte and arranged a visit to Old Ranch.  During our visit, we had the pleasure of having lunch with Colleen.

We spoke with Charlotte, who updated us on everything happening at “The Ranch.”  She seems to be doing well.

Colleen ordered the crispy fries ,and they were outstanding!

We ate the entire order!

Later on, we made a quick stop at Chico’s to check if they had anything that Mary required. Additionally, I needed a belt, so we made a short detour to Kohl’s. Despite weighing 190 pounds, my pants continuously falling off is not a desirable outcome.

Colleen headed home to meet up with Becca and the great-grandkids. They planned to swim in the pool before taking Colleen to the airport.es a swing!

Mom provides a helping hand!

Off we go on the flying Univoen

Yesterday, I went to see Dr. Rucker at 3:30 pm to discuss the results of my sleep apnea test.  During the appointment, we discovered that I have a mild case of sleep apnea, but thankfully it isn’t too sevseverer. Rucker suggested that I try a breathing machine while I sleep to help alleviate the ississue was happy to hear that the machine won’t be noisy like an air compressor.  I plan to buy it after I return to Hawaii.

Did You Know?  Sleep apnea is a disorder in which a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep, leading to brief awakenings throughout the night.  It can cause snoring, gasping, choking sounds, and excessive daytime sleepiness.

There are two types of sleep apnea: obstructive sleep apnea, which is caused by a physical obstruction in the airway, and central sleep apnea, which is caused by a failure of the brain to signal the muscles to breathe.

After stopping at Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill, we visited the Cerritos Performing Arts Center.  I ordered three beef ribs, and they were delicious!  Mary was well-behaved and had a salad (and tried one of my beef ribs).

Vicky, Jim, Ed, Betty and us met for dinner!

It was a full house!

We had the pleasure of seeing Trace Andersen and he put on an amazing show.  Mary was dancing and singing along to all of his songs, and the whole audience was buzzing with excitement.

We had a full house this evening.

Our seats were perfect; the distance from the stage kept our ears from getting damaged, and we could see all the groupies flailing in the air as he sang.

We had terrific seats.

The lighting was excellent and followed the music right on queue.

We watched the lights, and below us, we saw the “lighting man” operating the controls.

Mary got an excellent picture with her steady hands!

Uo close and personal!

We drove back to Orange using the 91 Freeway and saw the impressive August Super Moon in front of us. Mary attempted to take a picture of it while we were driving at 65 mph on the uneven road, and her effort wasn’t bad.

The brightest moon of the year!

We stopped at Aces and had a glass of wine before going home and hitting the sack!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
