The Remainder Of Our Outdoor Lights Came Today!

Fact: A 2014 survey from Japan-based online retailer Rakuten found three-quarters of Americans didn’t like their holiday gifts, with one-third choosing to regift, 27 percent donating to charity, and 14 percent cutting their losses and selling while the item still had value.

Some bad news; one of the elves is missing; His name is Dimples!

What can we do??

We were up early again as the cleaning folks were due in at 8:15 AM, and Mary wanted to shower before they arrived.  I felt a little daring, so I asked Mary, “Why don’t you ever see Santa in the hospital?” She mulled it over, and being a doctor; she immediately replied, “Because he has private elf care!”

Why is it getting harder to buy Advent calendars?  Their days are numbered!

It was (;15 AM when Scout came over to remind me to take him to the beauty parlor.  He wanted to be pretty for Christmas!  I dropped him off at 9:30 AM and then dropped by Albertson’s doe some puffed pastry and a few other essentials.

I retrieved Scout about noon; he pranced around the house like a new doggie and smelled great!  However, he knew something was up when he saw us getting ready for the 114th Annual Newport Christmas Boat Parade,

Mary got us on the water tickets for the parade/  We went with our neighbor Jeff and Irene met us there.

It was a bit on the cool side!

We had dinner and a couple of drinks before the parade started.

We so enjoy each other’s company!

Irene got caught up in traffic but decided to meet us at the Legion and had a great time!

Great fun with friends!

We didn’t see all of the parade; we were too caught up in enjoying life and sharing stories.  The crowd was delightful, and I invited the folks next to us, Beverly and Bill, to New Years at the Elks!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
